I created this as an inspiration from my favorite artists, the Froud Family, Brian Froud, Wendy Froud and Toby Froud. Their art allowed me to see what the Fae really look like through their eyes. Once I could see, there was no going back, it allowed me to see them through my own eyes and my own creations. These little elementals call themselves Brownies.

The larger Brownie is posable and his head, hands and feet are made of polymer clay, same with his little Brownie friend. The larger ones clothing is made up of several different materials, including avocado buttons, faux skull bone beads, and wet felting, a process of making material from wool fibers with soap and water. He has Alpaca fur hair, (no animal was harmed in this process, my girlfriends mom has an Alpaca farm, and they got a hair cut) and a pouch made by my native american hubby, that contains raw ruby and emerald stones, elderberry, cinnamon sticks, star anise and other various crystals. The Brownies love this in their tea. The little Brownie is dressed in knitted yarn and gauze. He was the first polymer clay figure I ever made. His ears are eh ok, but since then I learned to create better ears in sculpting. It’s fun, I am in process of making a smaller diorama of a faerie.

The birch tree was in our yard and from limbs that fell and broke in half during a tornado that my husband had to trim and cut.

I also learned how to make these dolls from a Youtube channel that inspired me called Emz Odd Works, I believe it is called. My first time using polymer clay seriously. My next ones will be even better!

This little fairy is watching over a sparrows nest with eggs. That is a real nest by the way….
